It has been a while since I have updated my blog. So here is a rundown of what has been happening since August. My friend and I started doing preschool with Ella and her daughter. It happens once or twice a week and the girls love it. I'm amazed at how much Ella already knows. She is so excited for Kindergarten. We went into her school to register her and she asked if she could stay and go to school. I am also looking forward to her going...sometimes...I think I will cry the first week but she will love it. Ella is also learning to ride her bike without training wheels. Her cousin Reed who is younger than her can do it and Ella is very competitive. She is determined to learn. Avery is showing her independence. She reminds me so much of Ella and is a little firecracker. She loves to read and get into the cereal. Anytime we see a truck she says "dadda" which makes Wayne smile. She has a stuffed animal monkey that she carries everywhere. It goes to bed with her, sits at the table while she eats and watches from the counter when she is in the bath. She calls it baby and I think it sweet that she loves something so much. Wayne is very busy it at work. After hours he is testing different turbos. He has changed so many of them that I think he can do it with his eyes closed and one hand tied behind his back :) He comes home pretty tired and works most Saturdays but he enjoys it. I am busy being mom. Making dinners, doing laundry and cleaning the house occupies most of my time. My parents came in November for a visit which was great. They were here for Ella's first primary program. Wayne and I were very proud when she stood up and said her line. She tends to get pretty shy in front of crowds so we were a little nervous but she did awesome! Ella has my dad wrapped around her little finger so when she asked him to build her a tire swing he said of course! Also, Waynes brother Kyle and his family stopped by the same weekend on their way to Texas. The girls had fun playing with their cousins. Thanksgiving was spent here and we went out for dinner as a family and had a great time. Very different from what we are used to but it was fun. We went to Utah for Christmas which was nice but everyone came home sick which was not so good. Wayne was the worst and we all know how men get when they are sick! That sums up what has been going on with us. Enjoy the pictures!
Mikey and Liz were married the end of July and it was a great day. It turned out beautiful and we are so happy to have Liz a part of our family. There were lots of friends and family that came and supported them which was really nice. Madi and Ella loved being flower girls, and running around in their "wedding" dresses. Congrats Mikey and Liz!
The girls dresses went to the floor so this is what they did most of the night. Ella always had it gathered up as high as she could get it.
Thank you Pam for taking our family pictures! It turned out beautiful :)
This was only some of the the people that came for the reception in Canby.
Ella loved her dress EXCEPT for the sparkles on the skirt. All night of the wedding she kept coming up to me asking me to wipe off the sparkles from her hands and when they wouldn't come off she acted like that. She was so happy after we took the dresses to the cleaners because most of the sparkles came off...which we didn't expect.
July started out slow but got really busy around the end. Here are a few random pictures from what we have been up to. Had a nice 4th of July minus fireworks because of the fires, but we went swimming as a family and had a great time. The blue and white dress that Avery is wearing used to be mine, which makes it fun to see her wear it. The girls love to play outside in the sprinkler as long as it is barely turned with hardly any water coming out of it. And finally...Avery loves to get into the cereal. We are doing great and loving Colorado! My next post will be about Michael's wedding and there are quite a few pictures :)
Avery turned 1 at the end of June and she is a very busy 1 year old. She is walking, climbing, and falling on everything. Ella loves having someone to play with even though Avery is now interested in her toys, she is learning how to share really well. For her birthday Ella gave her a barbie because she was sure that Avery would play with it...it now lives in Ella's room :) Her favorite new toy is the truck. She plays with that most days and it was the hit of the party. I can't believe my baby is one! Happy Birthday Avery!
Starting June 18th Ella started her first swim lessons. I was sure that we would get there and she would decide that she didn't want to do it but she proved me wrong. She walked right over to her teacher, got in the pool and did great! We did it for 2 weeks and by the end we were both so tired that we were glad it was over. She passed the level she was in which was pretty exciting and came away with quite the tan! At the pool where the lessons were there was a kiddie pool which anyone could swim in before, during and after swim lessons...Avery loved it. If I wasn't watching her close enough she would walk herself right over and get in the pool. I have 2 children who have no fear of water : / The last picture of the slide was taken with my phone so the quality isn't that great but the slide with the bigger drop-off is the one Ella went down before I could even get in the water to catch her. It is 10 ft deep and about 6 ft from the wall but she did it all by herself! I was one proud momma!
Wayne's parents and brother stopped by our house for a visit a couple weeks ago and it was really fun to see them. They were able to see Ella do her first swim lesson and we took them to the train museum by our house. They were a little surprised by the 100 degree weather but it was very nice to have some visitors. Thanks for stopping by!
We also did a little early birthday celebration for Avery while they were here. She was very happy to get her new drum..so was Ella.
