The month of December was fun and busy. We went sledding, celebrated Wayne's birthday and were visited by my parents and brother for Christmas. It was a very fun month. On Christmas Eve we went to the train museum by our house and even though we were blinded by the snow...that is why Mikey is wearing my sunglasses...it was a really cool place to visit. Christmas morning was great and we all were spoiled. Ella got a big girl bike from Santa but wasn't nearly as excited as I thought she should be. Avery slept through most of the opening of presents but was happy to get some new binkies. We hope you all had a great holiday season. FYI...Wayne and Mikey built a snow-lady if you look closely :)

In November we had some family pictures taken by my cousin Ashton. Her family lives here in Aurora which we love and it has been so great to spend time with them. I was happy that both my kids were in good moods that day and it turned out pretty well. We were able to go to Utah for Thanksgiving to spend it with Waynes family and we had a great time. I didn't get my camera out hardly at all so I only have a couple of pictures. Ella had a great time playing with all her cousins and really enjoyed playing in Jetts crib with Salem. We were able to see all of the family except for Byron who was still in Iraq. It was really nice to catch up with everyone again. We also got to spend some time with Shelby and Kirk and the kids too. It was a great weekend.

At the end of September we blessed Avery and were very lucky to have so much of our family to be able to attend. It was a great hot hot day in St George. In October Wayne moved to Golden Colorado to start his new job. He is back working at Elite Diesel Engineering. He is a mechanic for them and is really enjoying his job. I brought the girls in the beginning of November after our month long vacation to Oregon. We are really liking being back in Colorado and life is good. Enjoy the pictures!

Im in the process of undating the blog...five months later. Avery was born June 28th, and we were very glad to welcome her. Wayne got a new job a week after she was born, driving a water truck for a pipeline company. He enjoyed it except for the fact he worked nights and had to drive about 2 hrs to get to work. He spent a lot of his day in a vehicle. More updates to come soon...but here is one more. We moved back to Colorado. Wayne got a new job and we live in Golden, which is about 30 min west of Denver. More on that later :))

At the beginning of June Wayne's younger brother Byron left with the National Guard to go to Indiana and then on to Iraq. We were able to spend the weekend with family and see Byron off. Everyone had a good time and it was fun to see family that we haven't seen for a while. We love Byron so much and are grateful for the work he will be doing for our country. We were able to get a family picture minus a few people..it's hard when the family is getting so big.

I decided that I should update the blog before I have the baby...since it might be a while before I do it again once she arrives. We are doing good here in St George. Ella and I went to Oregon for a couple of weeks in May to visit family which was a lot of fun. We were able to stop in Boise and see my sister's family and Ella loved to play with her cousins. In April Ella turned three and she is growing up way too fast. I can't believe that my baby is 3!! Her favorite thing to do is play dress up and help her dad in the garage. She will probably know more about cars than most boys her age and be able to change a tire or the oil faster too. I am 38 weeks and ready to be done being pregnant. It is not fun living in 100+ weather in this condition. I hope she decides to come early...Ella talks to her everyday and asks if she wants to come out and play and she informs me that Avery says yes. Ella is going to have a rude awakening when she realizes that she won't have an instant playmate. Enjoy the pictures.

Most people already know but in case you don't....we are having baby girl in July. The due date is July 5th and all is going great. Ella is excited to be a big sister, even though I don't think she understands there will be a baby here 24/7. As of now we have named her Avery and are anxiously awaiting her arrival. Other than that we have been enjoying life. We had a surprise visit from my parents in February, and went to Idaho for a wedding in March. The drag racing season has begun which has kept Wayne busy. Here are some pictures...enjoy.

This is how my parents showed up on my doorstep...they are lucky I didn't slam the door in their faces. But it was a great surprise.

At the beginning of November we moved to St. George Utah. Wayne got a new job that was a lot closer to family and we decided to pick up and move. I have decided that I really don't like to move. It was nice when we finally arrived and were able to unpack. We are enjoying the warm weather and have had a few adventures since being here. We drove to Oregon for Thanksgiving to spend it with my family. Wayne figured it was about time to visit the in-laws since he hadn't been there in two years :) The roads were pretty rough and at one point we were going so slow outside of snowville on the freeway because we couldn't even see the front of the car that I was sure we were going to be hit by a semi. About four hours before we got to my parents house the heater stopped working in the car and it was a chilly drive. Quite the adventure. We were very grateful that we made it safely. We are looking forward to seeing more family over Christmas and we hope you all have a great one too.

End Of The 4-Runner

Last week Ella and I were in a car accident up by Denver. I was going to see a friend and I was about three minutes from her house when it happened. We were on a gravel road and I lost control, went through a fence, hit an electrical box and rolled once. I was able to get out of the car and get Ella out and then a very nice UPS driver stopped when he saw that we were on the side of the road. 911 was called and we both walked away without a scratch. I know that it could have been so much worse but I am thankful everyday that it wasn't. FYI...the reason I lost control was because I was driving too fast. Please let my life lesson help you....DONT SPEED....nothing is worth that. I just wanted to share my experience because it might help someone else. I know my Heavenly Father was watching over us and it was a miracle that we were okay. Ella and I are doing fine now. We are both a little sore, but we are good....unlike the 4-Runner. Oh well...it was just a car. We love you all!!!

Memorial Day

Over Memorial Day weekend, we met up with Wayne's family for a little vacation. We started out the trip going to Mesa Verde National Park which was pretty cool. It was really nice that everyone was able to come. The last two days we spent in Moab and went to Arches...very cool. Be warned, there are a lot of pictures.

The last night we were in Moab Wayne took us out on one of the trails that guys take jeeps and rock climbers on. Brittanee was a better sport than I was...but I don't think she kept smacking her head on the window when we went over a rough spot. But I have to give credit to Wayne. There were multiple spots I was sure we were going to fall off the edge or get stuck and have to wait for hours for someone to pull us out. But he got us through, and the 4-runner only got a few dents :))

Oregon Trip

Ella and I took a trip to Oregon the end of March. The pictures are out of order and there are alot...sorry!!

Madison spent the rest of the day telling everyone that she was going to buy hunky...she fell in love with him. She could have ridden him all day.

Reed on the other hand did not like the horses. He screamed the entire way around the arena. Good thing hunky is so calm.

About a mile from our house is a great place called Cattail Crossing. It is a pond that is the home to many fish, ducks and geese. Ella and I have been taking walks there to feed the ducks. I have learned that Ella is more brave than I am. She just stands there and lets the ducks and geese come up to her and is never scared. I on the other hand, don't like them to get all the close. The other part that scares me are the seagulls that hangout there from time to time. Once they see your arm raise they take off flying right at you. I really think that if you let them, they would eat the bread right out of your hand.

First Hair Cut

At 22 months Ella finally had her first hair cut. I was tired of the mullet look so we cut it to look like a cute little bob. The pictures aren't great but it is a battle now to get her to sit still long enough to take a picture.

This post is mostly for my sister. She has inspired me to try different hairstyles on Ella. The first one Wayne thought was a joke...he just doesn't know style...j/k!! And we have to thank Uncle Mikey for the camo boots. If I would let her, she would wear them everyday.

Christmas & December

We were lucky enough to have some company for Christmas this year. My family minus shelby and kirk were here a week. We had so much fun!! Ella really enjoyed opening her presents and playing with everything on the spot. I think her favorite presents were the plates, bowls, cups and spoons. Who would have thought those things could offer so much entertainment.

Dad and Mikey at work putting together the kitchen....came with a missing door and we broke two of the doors putting together. Grateful for replacement parts.

We went to see Santa and missed him by about 3 minutes. And it turned out that it would have cost $22.00 because they wouldn't let us use our own camera....next year we will find a free Santa!! So here is Uncle Mikey being a good sport.

One day I was cleaning out my shelves in our closet. I put a pile of lingerie on the bed and went downstairs for a few minutes. When I came back up I found Ella wearing as much as the lingerie as she could put on. I took a few pictures and then removed the lingerie.....minutes later she was wearing it again.

Ella and I went trick or treating and she was a pro at knocking on the doors by the time we were finished. She realized that she was supposed to say something after we knocked, but didn't understand that you were to wait until the door was actually open. It was pretty funny.

On our trip to Oregon we took a side trip to Pendleton to meet up with Shelby and the kids. It was fun to have the grandparents and grandkids together. Imagine this....four adults and three children in one hotel room with two queen beds. To make a story short....ella slept all night in her pack and play, grandma ended up in the car, and reed slept in the bathtub with lots of towels as padding. It was pretty funny.

Ella mimics everything that she sees Wayne and I doing. We both started laughing when she picked up her corn and went to it. She was able to use the few teeth that she has to get a few good bites in.

We decided to go and find some "hills" to have a hot dog roast one night. Finding mountains by pueblo colorado not an easy task. We ended up driving almost an hour, climbed over a barb wire fence and made our own fire pit. We had a lot of fun until the rain came....gotta love colorado weather.

She couldn't figure out how to get the sticky white stuff off her hands and she was not very happy about it.

She sure does love her daddy.

We went to the top of Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs with the fam. The top was above 14,ooo ft. It was quite the drive but we had a good time.

On memorial day we went to the worlds tallest suspension bridge. It is in Canon City Colorado and it is just over 1000 ft above the Arkansas river. It was a fun day, but I don't recommend walking across the bridge when it is windy.....IT MOVES!! Kind of creepy. But we had a good time and it was pretty incredible to look at and wonder how in the world it was built. Enjoy!!

This was taken after she helped her dad in the garage. She was black everywhere. My bathtub was proof of that. But she loved every minute of it, as did i since I got a break!!

She loves sitting in my lawn chair. Even when I put hers out, she still would rather sit in mine.

Ella takes after her mom and has a true love for clothes. If she finds any piece of clothing laying within her reach she will put it on and wear it around the house. She was so excited when she found her dads work shirt.

Grandma came and visited us for about a week in may. We had so much fun and didn't want her to go home. hopefully she will see this picture and decided that it is time for another visit!!

Yes, we are no longer in the state of Idaho. Around the beginning of March Wayne had a job interview in Pueblo West Colorado. Needless to say he was offered the job, so we picked up and moved. We did all of this in about three weeks time. He closed the shop, packed up his tools and we hit the road for Colorado. We were both so busy that for the two weeks prior to the move I don't think we really saw all that much of eachother. Yeah, stressful to move a shop and house in three weeks. I don't recommend it. Wayne now works for Elite Diesel Engineering here in Pueblo West, and he loves it. I still am dealing with paperwork from the shop, but that is coming to an end rather quickly. Ella just had her birthday and she is really keeping us on our toes. She has been walking for a while, which means she can get into more things a lot faster than when she was crawling. Packing and unpacking with her was quite a challenge. We hope you are all doing well and here are some pictures.

This is our house in Colorado. Our landlord built it, tried to sell and couldn't so he decided to make it a rental. We never thought we would be so lucky as to move into a brand new house. As you can see we don't have much of a yard yet, but it is progress.

Ella got her first horse. It even plays music that she will dance to. We were looking at a few other toys for her birthday but decided that we couldn't pass up the pink pony.

Ella has been cutting teeth lately....here is the before shot of her without tylenol.

And here she is once it kicked in.

This year was Ella's first Easter. Everything on the couch is for her, except of course the legos. The Easter bunny left those for Wayne. Pretty sure that Ella stuck almost every piece in her mouth before her dad got a chance to build the car.

Here are just a few funny pictures of Ella. When she eats any kind of cereal, she takes a handful and attempts to shove them all in her mouth at once. You might think that the choking that comes after would help her to realize that maybe smaller bites would be a good thing, but it doesn't. The more she can get in the better. A couple sundays ago, I was at church alone with ella. The only way to keep her quiet was to feed her goldfish crackers. I was unaware that she was keeping them all in her mouth....no swallowing involved.....I realized this about 10 crackers into it. She then decided to open her mouth and let some fall out. It was such a mess. When I went home after the first hour I noticed that I had dry cracker "stuff" on my neck. Yeah, so not good.

I know this picture looks bad, but I moved her right after I took a couple of pictures :) I had gone to check on her before I went to bed and this is what I found. She gets her sleeping habits from her dad, but I needed to prove it. Now, there is no denying!! And, she didn't even blink when I took the pictures. She was out cold.

On Christmas Day we went to the Yates family cabin down by Price Utah. We had to snowmobile in and it was an adventure. Once we got in and warmed up it was really fun. Every time we would take Ella on the snowmobile she was fall asleep, which was nice....until we would stop and she would start to cry. She looked a lot like the little boy in "The Christmas Story" that wears the snowsuit and can't hardly move once it is on. Yeah, she looked pretty cute if you ask me. In some of the pictures you can see that Ella is playing with a little jingle ball tree ornament. Within thirty seconds she had the whole thing in her mouth. It was about 1 1/2 in. in diameter. She could almost close her mouth entirely so the the little string would be the only thing haning out of her lips. Yeah, it was really funny.

She had it all over her self, all the way down to her toes and her car seat is now forever red in a few spots. BUT....she stopped crying until I took her into Wendy's to clean her up. Yeah, we got a few strange looks.

For Halloween this year Wayne and I took Ella to Salt Lake for a couple family parties, so we dressed her up and went trick or treating. She was a Pea Pod and she looked very cute. Wayne thought it was worthless to actually take her to any houses, so we went and visisted some family to show them her costume. This first picture might disturb some people, but it was pretty funny to us. Wayne has an uncle who is a mortician and he has a coffin that he uses on Halloween. Uncle Blake lies in the coffin with the bowl of candy and when the children reach in he says boo and scares the *&^^&% out of them!! Ella is too young to be scared so we were able to get a good picture. I must admit it is a little morbid to be handing your baby to someone in a coffin. Overall it was a fun Halloween and I am glad that we actually were able to do something fun with Ella.

We took Ella out 4-wheeling in the mud for the first time. She did pretty well which made Wayne smile. When Wayne backed into the river to "wash" the truck he went a little too far and water spilled into the back seat and covered the floor. He had his cousins with him and they all screamed at the same time, opened the doors and water poured out of the back seat. I was happily sitting in my 4-runner with the heater on and smiling since my feet were still dry. It was really fun and I made Wayne's day by agreeing that I would go as long as I could take my car and do the driving. This next little part is for Mikey. There were two different places that my Toyota made it that a duramax didn't or it took multiple tries, were as I made it up the first time.

That is right...I drove the truck while we were out playing in the mud. It is fun to drive something when I know I won't get stuck. Even if I did I am sure Wayne would enjoy trying to get it un-stuck!!
